About

Daza and Enid return to New Zealand after ten years in England to find themselves dealing with reverse culture shock. Follow their pithy and insightful blog documenting the good, the bad and the perplexing about returning home.

Daza came from that most English of New Zealand cities Christchurch. For most of the time there he drove a Morris Minor. In the UK he learned to roll his Rs, hummed Ray Davies songs on the side of the Thames, and took every opportunity he could to use public transport. Having only occasionally visited the North Island before his time in England life in Auckland is a big adventure.

Enid arrived in New Zealand aged four leaving behind an East London semi-detached lifestyle with afternoon tea parties, package holidays to Europe and annual ritual burning of Guy Fawkes. In New Zealand she never quite lost her English accent, but in England she never quite lost her New Zealand one. But at least she knows how to identify more than 10 New Zealand native plants on the Arataki Nature Trail.
